Cosmetologist

Position Overview

The seeking a licensed cosmetologist to provide professional hair care services to the residents of our assisted living community. This is a flexible, travel-based position serving our locations in the Burlington and Kernersville areas. The ideal candidate is compassionate, skilled across all hair types, and enjoys making a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly clients.

Position Details

• Location: Burlington & Kernersville, NC (travel required between locations) Both locations preferred
• Schedule: Set your own schedule — flexible availability preferred
• Employment Type: Independent contractor or part-time
• Booth rent is NOT included in this position
• Outside clients welcome — cosmetologist may bring their own personal clients to the facility, provided that residents are always given priority scheduling
• Residents are to be charged at a discounted rate, as booth rent is not required for this position

Responsibilities

• Provide hair care services including cuts, washes, sets, perms, color, braiding and styling
• Work with residents in the salon setting, as well as in-room visits for those with limited mobility
• Serve a diverse clientele with a wide variety of hair types and textures
• Handle fine, thinning, or fragile hair with care and sensitivity
• Assist residents who may require wheelchair-accessible service
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
• Build trusting relationships with residents and communicate with facility staff as needed

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina cosmetology license (required)
• Experience with all hair types, textures, and ethnicities
• Patience and compassion when working with elderly or mobility-limited clients
• Reliable transportation for travel between Burlington and Kernersville locations
• Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills
• Experience in assisted living, senior care, or geriatric settings is a plus
