Cosmetologist - Part-time

The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is looking for a Beautician to join our growing team!

Job Summary

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the basic hair care needs of the residents in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by resident or family members to assure that everyone is happy with the results.

Part-Time, 3 days a week, 24 hours a week, Monday-Friday, hours are 7:30AM - 4:00 PM

Rate of Pay: $15.25 - $17.25/hr

Responsibilities

• Cape each resident appropriately whether for shampooing or for haircutting.
• Cut hair into a desirable style and then sweep hair up and dispose of properly.
• Give the resident permanent waves when requested.
• Style hair as requested by resident or family member using your best judgement. Advise resident or family members when questioned.
• Unlock supply storage unit and get shampoos, rinses, conditioners, perms, etc. daily.
• Return all supplies to cabinet and lock daily.
• Clean perm rods daily.
• Clean combs and brushes daily.
• Fold shampoo capes and towels daily.
• Answer the phone and schedule appointments in a way as not to interfere with others already made.
• Take soiled towels back to laundry and place in proper area daily.
• Fill shampoo and wave set bottles weekly.
• Sweep the floor daily.
• Empty trash weekly as needed.
• Keep all Beauty Shop supplies locked up each night.
• Clean standing dryer filters and dryer units occasionally.
• Clean roller carts occasionally.
• Coordinate hair appointments with nursing services so as not to interfere with their daily schedules.
