Rebel Rebel Men’s Grooming is hiring a part-time barber or cosmetologist. Must excel at traditionally masculine styles such as skin fades, tapers, and shaves with straight razor.

Established in 2017 and located in Phenix Salon Suites, we're a musician-owned, highly-rated barbershop in San Antonio's booming Stone Oak district. We are a small, 4-chair boutique shop with an old school dive bar vibe. Perfect for guys who not only need a great cut but also some down time as well. Every client gets a full 30 minutes to themselves, with available extras like hot steam towel, nape shave, and classic shoulder massage machine.

With cult classics going on the flat screens, great vibes on the smart-speaker, and a great old-school aesthetic, Rebel Rebel is the place you're looking for.

Starting pay is 42% commission on services and 13% on retail.

The Technicalities

• 1 hour scheduled lunch (no more missed meals)
• Set weekly schedule, so you can plan your life
• Must available to work weekends and day/evenings during the week until 8:30pm
• Commission pay. 42% on services, 13% on retail
• No chain-shop culture. We're a small, personable "mom & pop shop" type crew
• Cuts and shaves only, no color services

Skills Requirements

• Converse with clients to better understand their requirements and make suggestions
• Perform Men's cuts & shaves
• Maintain salon equipment with care
• Comply with health and safety standards in accordance with TDLR

Expertise Requirements

• Valid cosmetology or barber license required
• 2 years of men’s hair cutting experience preferred
• Ability to do skin fades up-to-date with men's hair trends
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn face shaves and beard trims (cosmetologists are legal to perform face shaves and beard trims in the State of Texas)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Excellent communication and people skills
