Hairstylist/Cosmetologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Hairstylist/Cosmetologist to join our vibrant salon team! In this role, you will deliver exceptional hair and beauty services that leave clients feeling confident and beautiful. Your expertise in hair styling, coloring, extensions, and other beauty treatments will help create a welcoming atmosphere where clients return time and again. All services provided are paid positions, including internships.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of hair services including cuts, styling, coloring, highlights, balayage, and extensions using advanced techniques such as hair threading and straight razor shaving.
• Provide expert consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable treatments or products.
• Apply makeup and nail care services to enhance clients’ overall look when requested.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas following industry regulations.
• Manage appointments efficiently using salon software such as MINDBODY, ensuring smooth scheduling and client flow.
• Upsell retail products related to hair care, skincare, makeup, and nail care to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue.
• Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and supporting store management operations.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair styling, eyelash extensions, hair extensions application, and retail sales strategies.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in color theory, haircutting techniques, and beauty treatments to provide innovative services.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of hair styling techniques including blowouts, braiding, curling, straightening, and precision cuts.
• Proficiency in color application methods such as balayage, ombre, color correction, and use of salon software like MINDBODY for booking and client management.
• Skilled in applying eyelash extensions and performing nail care treatments with attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively consult with clients about their desired looks and product recommendations.
• Experience with retail sales techniques including upselling products that complement services provided.
• Ability to perform hair threading for facial hair or eyebrow shaping when needed.
• Knowledge of store management principles including inventory control and retail math for maximizing sales opportunities. Pay: $24.26 - $29.21 per hour
